add plane in rome, now he's on his way to cuba. meantime here at home, exactly one week away from pope francis touching down in philadelphia. and coming up: new details about security for the event. also, more road closures to tell you about. that's ahead in a live report. >> and new this morning, two people are injured, in this serious crash. one car rolls over, and another ends up inside a building. today is saturday, september 19th, good morning to you, thanks so much for joining us, i'm nicole brewer. it is 601:67:89 let's sends it over to kyla for more on this forecast, and i have to tell you, yesterday was pretty much the perfect day. >> it was, i mean, just gorgeous anyway we can re-enact that somehow? >> you know, we will do that little bit today. starting off little differently. lot of moisture in the air, some fog, really starting to make an impact along the coast, and edging it way inland. little concerned about. that will but we will get better as we go along. >> want to tell but there is we do have dense fog along the coastline, visibility in atlantic city has been horrific. now up to about three/ten of a

some in western pennsylvania, i'll get into that when we company back in just a few moments, back to you. >> can you believe it? just one week away from the papal visit here in philadelphia. police say certain traffic detours will last several days even after the pope leaves. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff live for us along the ben franklin parkway with more on the final preparations, alex, good morning. >> good morning, nicole. not seeing any blockades just yet. we were told that the outer drives of the ben franklin parkway would be shutting down, at 6:00 a.m. the inner drivers were shutdown on thursday. >> you can see, we can almost envision what it will look like. crews have been working around the clock, they were working well into the evening hours, yesterday, with the arrival of pope francis just one week away now, we are told that the entirety of eakin's oval will be shutdown, until september september 29th, a tuesday, roadways will not clear up until october 4th.

not just vehicular traffic. but foot traffic, that continues to be the focus, a meeting with security officials took place in an undisclosed location yesterday. speaking of those, philadelphia police don't use them, montgomery county sheriff department, will be used in the event after emergency when navigating through crowds, will be nearly impossible. >> if there is a million and a half people, or whatever it is, in center city philadelphia, or on city line avenue, it will be very difficult to get a that in that area. a drone with the proper application would be of benefit to us. >> reporter: seventy-six, 676, will be detour for this area. once again we were told the outer drives of the ben franklin parkway from eakin's oval down to 20th street would be closed off at 6:00 a.m. again, not seeing any blockades, just yet. but that's a plan. so if you are headed out this morning, expect that to be the case. i can't prom that's things will still be open by the time

do you leave. reporting live from the ben franklin parkway, alexandria hoff, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> alex, good heads up, thanks. meanwhile, time is running out for sit residents to try to figure out where to park their vehicles ahead of the papal visit. signs designating the no parking areas within that security zone have been polls dollars since monday. will starting to vehicles parked in the zones tomorrow about 6:00. drivers have the option of moving their vehicle outside the zone or of course parking inside a garage. happening today, pope francis arrives in cuba kicking off hills north american to up, took off this morning from rome, expected to arrive this afternoon. now, his four day trip to cuba will include visits to several churches and meeting with the country's poor. pope francis will then continue on to the united states, cbs news correspondent wija has a preview of this big trip. >> pope francis asks for

boulevard. two cars were involved in this accident. one flipped over, the other crashed into a building. the drivers of each car, man and woman have, been taken to hospitalization with non-life threatening injuries. well, four people are in the hospital this morning, including two children. after a crash in university city overnight. rescue crews were called out to the 3400 block of market street just before 2:00 this morning for two-car accident. one car rolled over on it side. the two children injured are a ten year old and three month old. everyone is expected to be okay. >> well, fire off initials clayton, new jersey are investigating a fire hatched a -- happened at atlantic avenue. now, luckily, the home was vacant at the time of the fire. the cause is still under investigation. >> 6:08 right now. pope francis, the coverage continues, coming up next, holy father is getting had i own coffee, for his us visit. plus, some say it is easy, but other are gobbling up pope

he says that it is fog think morning, some patches are thick, so make sure to keep on your low beams. he's right. you agree? it is interesting because that's starting to work its way into philadelphia t started on the coastline. now starting to see it in philly, too. check it out. 61 degrees where ed is in chesterfield, he said he has no fog in the neighborhood, but thinks will be on harrison road, running pretty soon. little thick, soupy out there. we try one more, head little further north. 60 degrees. this is where charles is. and he's in bath, pa. so again, we are going to have pretty warm day today. >> the fog is the story as we go into our morning this morning. in fact, take a look at this. this is casino of where we're seeing the biggest problem right now. millville, .3 of a mile all the way from atlantic city over to wilmington, notice philadelphia just an at half mile visible, not great out there everybody. make sure to be careful. live look right now if we can. this is right off the rooftop of our building looking into center city. you can see the fog kind of

coming into philadelphia. >> you expect it at the coast, don't necessarily expect it in the city. that's what we are seeing going through the morning this morning. things will certainly get better, going about our day today. current temperatures right now, 67 in philadelphia. we've got about 60 degrees atlantic city, whim machining ton about 66. fifty-six in allentown, moment pocono. coming in at 57 degrees. region showing that we're in the 60s all across the northeastern region, right up and down the i59 corridor. so it will be a bit of balmy day today. kick the fog, we will be okay, see sunshine start to work it way in. some clouds as well, though, as we do have little weather tracking ahead of cold front today. while we make it up to 85 degrees today, we see big difference in temperatures as we head into the latter part of the weekends. today down the shore, sunny, beautiful, 84 degrees, nice looking day once we get the fog out of there. it will start to dissipate as the morning goes on. seventy-six your sunday, looking pretty good as well, rip current low. notice the temperature starting to pull down.

so this is a live look at storm scan3, right now. and it looks pretty good. right? you can't really see the fog here? you don't see much in the way of clouds. as we zoom out, stormy weather ahead of cold frontment par of it starting to make it into the northwest corner of pennsylvania. most of this, you can see, the trajectory, kind of going to the north and east. so it is really the back ends of this that will make it our way, going to deliver some clouds. for most of it is won't mean rain, but for people in the poconos you could see some showers later this evening. how this works out, so stormy weather ahead of of the colds front. goes through, see it tracking up to the north and east, little back end on there is by about 7:00 p.m. we could see some showers in central pennsylvania dissipating before it makes it way into philadelphia. so, we should just start to see clouds from this throughout the day today. we get into the sunday, start off little cloudy then this pushes off shore and we start to get some sunshine back. we also though are going to see the temperatures cool down. we call it cold front for reason, right? behind it we get much cooler air. so while today, eight a degrees, the average is 77, and we're going right into the

and spring garden state, make note, that the right lane is block with equipment setting up for this event. in the world of mass transit, the west trenton line is shuttle bussing both saturday, sunday, due to construction between the west trenton and wood born stations. and in other news, if you are looking for good time, the fourth annual fishtown october festival is this saturday from 6:00 a.m. until midnight. and because of the festivities, frandford avenue will be closed between tomorrow many son street and girard avenue. so, you will want to use the alternate, front street. also, the route 15 trolley will be shuttle bussing between the westmoreland loop and the intersection of the front street and girard avenue. >> construction season, friend, one of the areas you need to know on the ex at any show, northeast extention between mid-county and lansdale. >> this stretch in both directions of the northeast extension will be closed on sunday, from midnight until 6:00 a.m. it is a 11-mile stretch, so you will definitely want to plan accordingly.

havana, cuba on the pope's arrival there today. that's coming up in about ten minute. >> in other news this morning: nearly 500,000 volkswagon vehicles being recalled by federal un raters due to emission software. epa has accused auto maker of violating clean air laws by putting device on vehicles so they would pass emissions tells. affected diesel models include the jet, a beatle, the golf, pass at, audi a3, all from 2009 to 2015. the company faces more than $18 billion in fines. >> a phoenixville family learned whether their three year old almost died. >> had a police issuing a warning. >> i would encourage the community one to lock their cars, lock their doors, make sure their garage doors is closed protect their property they work hard for. >> since august 51 cars, 19 sheds, six homes, have been broken into. so far, police have made two after he cents, leaving them with hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in unclaimed valuables. rings, watches, cell phones, gps devices and electronics. just this week, two of the burglars were caught on home surveillance video stealing tools from a pick-up truck parked in a driveway on had okay drive in sewell around 3:00 a.m. monday. the two males looked to be in their late teens or early 20's. >> they look to be pretty comfortable. they look to be quite at ease, so, in my experience they are telling me this is certainly not the first time they've done this. >> police believe the pair is responsible for some, but not all of the recent break-in's. >> now, knowing this, we're all kind of going to be a little bit more aware, little more in touch with each other. >> neighbors on the block now taking extra precautions, and

atlantic city, very close to the temperatures, means very saturated airment kinds of ranging into the steamy section, some of us still in the not bad areament some of us are getting little steamy, as far as how comfortable feels. 67 degrees in philadelphia, just one agree off the dew point. sixty-eight in atlantic city airport, 57 up in mount pocono, as we zoom in here, head down the shore, see we're in the upper 60s from barnegat light down to ocean city, little cooler headed down to cape may. again all of the fog will keep lid on temperatures. so about 59 degrees there. if you are at the shore, once we kick this fog, it can take a minute today, we will see some sunshine, high of about 08 degrees. we get into sunday, little cooler mop day start off cool and breezy, high of just 72 so big difference in temperatures. storm scan3, showing our skies, besides the fog, are relatively clear right now. but as we zoom out, we do have a will the of stormy weather off to the west, a held of

cold front tracking across, storm system caused a lot of problems. it will not bring a lot of rain to us here in philadelphia, it will dissipate before it gets here. will bring the clouds in as we get into the weekend and more importantly will drop the temperatures. today we could see those mid 80s once we get the fog out of here, going to be very different story into the latter part of the weekends. what happens is this stormy weather, tracks toward us, kind of projectory to the north and east, majority passes to the north of us. look what happens tonight f you're in central pennsylvania, if you're in the poconos, may see few showers, before it finally clears out. sets us up sunday, and then get some clearing in there, off it go, looking pretty good. so the poconos today, you could see the shower this evening, watch out for. that will cooler temperatures for you, too, look out for some 60s as we head into sunday and monday, so changes are coming, everybody. keep in mind, our average this time of year 77 degrees. so while we see eight a today, headed down even below that average as we get into monday, tuesday, and wednesday. so today should be nice out there once you get rid of the fog, warm, lovely, high mid
